T’ai Chi Ch’uan:

This ancient Chinese martial art form is designed to enhance the body, mind, and spirit.  This exercise form promotes health, fitness, and longevity.  By practicing the sequence of movements, students can develop strength and coordination, while reducing stress and increasing mental focus.   T’ai Chi Ch’uan is beneficial as a supplement to other athletic activities and therapeutic for recovering from physical injuries.  This is excellent exercise for all ages and fitness levels.

About Instructors Marjorie Jackson and Danny Boone
Marjorie Jackson and her husband, Danny Boone, teach T’ai Chi Ch’uan/Chi Kung and Hatha Yoga classes at six locations around Austin.  Their teaching style is relaxed, yet enthusiastic and lends to an enjoyable classroom experience.  

Marjorie and Danny studied and developed their T’ai Chi Ch’uan skills in Los Angeles at the internationally acclaimed Tai Chi Academy of Master Kai Ying Tung.  Both trained for over 10 years with Master Kai Ying Tung.  Marjorie has been teaching Tai Chi & Hatha Yoga for 18 years.

Austin Academy of T’ai Chi Ch’uan Founder Supports Our Troops in Iraq
Austin Academy of T’ai Chi Ch’uan has a satellite school in Tikrit, Iraq. Founder Doug Jaques has taken a sabbatical to work for KBR in Iraq. For almost three years now, Jaques has been offering free Tai Chi classes to the soldiers, taught on his off time from his job as labor foreman. First at KMTB( Kirkush Military Training Base) near the Iranian border and presently at COB Speicher just outside of Tikrit.
